it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My name is Mrs. Rothe and I teach elementary school students from grades K-6th with extensive special needs. I have 10 students with disabilities ranging from Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, and Intellectual Disabilities with a mix of verbal and non-verbal communication. Due to the nature of their disability, many of my students require adaptive equipment and access to sensory items to participate with their same-aged peers in daily school activities. Sensory items and activities will provide my students safe ways to promote self-regulation and coping strategies. An adaptive swing will give our students an opportunity to participate in recess in a way that they have not been able to before.
