My Project
Books serve as windows and mirrors for children, inviting them to learn more about others' experiences while also allowing them to see themselves in texts. My first grade students love to read in our classroom library, and deserve to have quality literature and texts that affirm their identities and open their eyes to the world around them.
With these books, my students will be able to select books that reflect their own experiences and introduce them to our diverse world.
Writing journals will help students write about what they are reading. The materials in this project will help my students achieve their literacy goals, while also helping them develop a joy and curiosity about reading!
