An inclusive learning environment is an environment where all children feel safe, supported, and nurtured. The items listed in my project will help to create this supportive environment. Each item was intentionally selected with students in mind.
The bulletin board and border selected will create a polished, yet welcoming classroom environment.
The library bins and colorful tape will be used to organize the classroom. For example, books in the library will be organized according to their reading levels. Colored tape will be used to mark where students stand to line up or sit for small group instruction.
Markers, craft sticks, pipe stems, sharpie markers, Crayola markers, fine-point pens, and Scotch tape will be used for creative projects. This will allow students to display their creative side. Once projects are completed, they can be laminated with the use of laminated pouches.
With the use of flexible seating, students with sensory issues have the opportunity to move while learning.
Oftentimes, classroom space is limited and there are very few areas to store supplies. The rolling cart will be used to store goods such as tape, dry-erase markers, and dry-erase boards. Lastly, anchor chart paper and Post-its will be used to execute lessons. Students will have the opportunity to jot down questions on Post-it notes, take notes while reading, and chart their thoughts.
