Inclusive Diverse Classroom Decor

My Project

I want students to feel welcome and represented in the English as a Second Language class. The flags, multicultural big people shapes, and other decor in learning spaces influence how students perceive their sense of belonging. For ML students, seeing visuals that reflect their field and diverse identities reinforces that they are valued in the academic environment. Help me inspire confidence and foster inclusion through meaningful decor in class. When students see their identities—cultural, personal, or intellectual—reflected and valued, they feel more connected to the subject and are more likely to stay engaged and motivated. Details in the students' environment matter to their social, emotional, and mental health, which then promotes their learning and contribution to society. In addition, students use poster board paper to create murals for community building and notebooks to promote writing in different languages.
