This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are vibrant, curious middle schoolers from an inner-city community who thrive when given the opportunity to learn by doing. They’re creative problem-solvers who rise above challenges and bring unique perspectives to the classroom every day. What makes them special is their determination—they show up eager to grow, even when they don’t have access to basic materials many take for granted (copy paper).
With the right tools, my students can turn potential into progress.
Scissors will allow them to participate in hands-on activities that build fine motor skills, artistic expression, and spatial awareness across subjects like science, math, and health. Sports equipment will support physical education and social-emotional growth by giving students a safe, structured way to build teamwork, confidence, and self-discipline. Basic and graph paper will be used daily for math calculations, charting fitness goals, and creative assignments—essential tools for students who learn best when they can see and shape their own work.
The goal of this project is to make sure every student has access to the resources they need to learn, grow, and feel valued. These materials will help create an inclusive, engaging learning environment where no student is left out due to lack of supplies.
