My Project

My students are like all other kids. They want to play, have friends, and have fun! The items I am requesting can be used by my students, who have physical impairments, as well as their peers without physical impairments. Many times students with physical impairments, and other special abilities, feel isolated and can struggle to keep up with peers. It can be a challenge to be a student who may think, move, and communicate differently than your peers. Play is such an important opportunity for kids to be kids together. The items I have requested can be used in a variety of environments, both inside and outside, in sitting and in standing. This offers opportunities for social emotional learning, improve physical health, and develop confidence. My goal is for my items to promote inclusion through play. I have requested items that provide a variety of sensory input, that promote movement, moments of calm, and joy for kids to have fun together.
