This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the Targeted Student Population Coordinator for my school, I am fortunate to work with many at-risk students. This I why I want to build a library that is inclusive and diverse where teachers can come and check out books. Our students need to see themselves represented in books. Our students need to see their culture, their looks, and their experiences in literature. Creating a culturally inclusive library with enable our students to see themselves, and give our teachers an opportunity to incorporate culturally responsive literature into their lessons. By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student social emotional well-being, but you will ultimately give our students an opportunity to see themselves represented.
