Help me give my students an Inchy the Bookworm Vending Machine for students in grades K-12 as an incentive to meet personalized goals throughout the school year and redeem tokens for books!
Our school is a K-12 virtual academy that will continue to serve students long after the pandemic has ended! One of the most unique aspects of our virtual academy is that although we provide education virtually, we also have a physical space where our students can gather for events and testing. Within this area, we dream of having an Inchy the Bookworm Vending Machine where students who have met various academic goals can trade in tokens for books!
Inchy will be a school-wide, K-12 incentive.
Students will earn a gold token from their teacher for meeting personalized learning goals which can then be deposited into the book machine to redeem their choice of book. Students will be able to keep the book and add it to their personal library at home.
The vending machine will be filled with picture books, chapter books, and graphic novels of varying levels so that there is something of interest to everyone. Book selections will be rotated periodically to keep students' options fresh!
As a school, we aim to instill a love of reading in all of our students. I have updated my classroom photo to be one of my daughter with a neighboring school's Inchy the Bookworm Vending Machine so that you can see just what it is that you are helping us to get. This is a BIG project that we could not bring to fruition without community support.
