My Project
Most of our students come from low-income families with diverse cultural backgrounds and languages. The classroom serves as an environment where they can simultaneously have fun and learn. The majority of the students are avid readers who genuinely enjoy reading, and I firmly believe that reading is a fundamental skill.
One of the most effective ways to expand knowledge is by reading a good book, and students need access to books in all aspects of their lives to foster growth and learning.
Our goal is to introduce a book vending machine in my school, ensuring that all students have access to their favorite books and promoting an engaging method for them to choose their reading materials. This vending machine would be utilized as a school-wide reward system, where each teacher is provided with coins to distribute to students as rewards for their hard work, progress, and positive behavior.
As Dr Seuss once said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go."
By offering our students the chance to select their own books, we are encouraging them to explore new ideas and embark on exciting journeys through literature. From our youngest readers in Pre-K to our graduating seniors, the book vending machine would be a fantastic addition to our school, fostering a love for reading and learning in all our students.
