My Project
Please help my students inch loser to books with an Inchy's Bookworm Vending Machine. Eighty percent of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches. Many of my students do not have books of their own at home. An Inchy's Bookworm Vending Machine gives my students the opportunity to "buy" a book, but at no cost to them.
My students can earn a token simply by demonstrating good behavior.
Tokens for Inchy's Bookworm Vending Machine can be chosen, by a student, as a prize during our monthly BES Bucks drawings. A BES Buck (in our district) is a written notice of exemplary behavior. Receiving a BES Buck provides our students with the opportunity to receive a special prize in acknowledgment of this act of stellar behavior. Having an Inchy's Bookworm Vending Machine would provide our students the opportunity to choose a token as their prize and then select their very own book from the Inchy's Bookworm Vending Machine. This would encourage the students to choose a book, thus, encouraging the students to read, building their literacy, fluency and vocabulary skills. All of which would be extremely beneficial to the students of BES.
Our school is a low income school, and also a Title I school. Any opportunity to provide our students with free reading materials is an opportunity that we want to take advantage of as much as possible. The Inchy's Bookworm Vending Machine would provide our students the perfect opportunity to choose a book that they want to read, and keep. A book of their very own. Please help my students build their skills including, reading, fluency, vocabulary, and a basic love of reading, by helping us inch closer to books with an Inchy's Bookworm Vending Machine. Thank you for your consideration!
