This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are bringing back a classic! Insta-Learn by Step has provided materials for learning for the last 40+ years. I used them to learn to read when I was young and I am reintroducing them! My mother was a teacher and I inherited several boards and tiles, but I am missing a few key skills.
With these tiles, I can complete the set and my students will have scaffolded, self-checking, confidence-building, skill-strengthening activities!
I have already been using the ones I do have and the students love them. In addition, I have lent them to older grades with students who are too far below grade level to participate in certain class lessons.
I cannot impress enough by how effective these boards and tiles are! Students do not ask for help or stop working when these are available. They also provide an open-ended center that allows me to focus on small-group teaching. I have invested in these materials on my own, but I am hoping to speed up the process with your support.
