My Project
My third-grade students attend a very small, rural Pennsylvania school. Our teachers embrace this rural advantage and make the effort to break the mold of the traditional classroom setting by connecting our students to their community and utilizing the plethora of resources that our country setting provides us.
As we all know, public school budgets are under more strain than ever before.
Our funds keep getting cut, and to survive, the basics are coming out of teacher's pockets. To function more smoothly, my classroom is in need of a few items to streamline organization. First, I'm hoping to obtain a standing desk. This would give students the opportunity to stand and work, but also allow me to connect my laptop to my Promethean board for easier instruction. I'm also in need of bins and shelf organizers to better use the storage space within my classroom.
There is no doubt that we are teaching through unprecedented times. Resources like these can have such a profound effect on our schools and the spirit of our teachers as we navigate through.
