This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach three guitar classes with over 35 students each, providing music education through guitar for more than 100 students. Up until now, my students have used free guitar tuning apps on their phones to ensure their instruments are properly tuned for class. However, this year my school is moving forward with a no-phone-use policy, we need a reliable alternative, physical guitar tuners, to maintain our learning environment.
The ability to tune a guitar is essential for developing musicianship.
Without access to tuners, students will struggle to engage meaningfully in class and develop their skills. By providing physical tuners, we can ensure that:
-Every student can quickly and accurately tune their instrument.
-Class time is spent making music rather than troubleshooting tuning issues.
-Students develop independence and confidence in handling their instruments.
