This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The bean bags will be helpful in many ways. In our classroom, we have a calming corner with coloring books, relaxation cards, and a jellyfish lamp. Students find this area very calming, but currently have to sit on the floor in our calm corner. These bean bags would help create a more calm and cozy corner. The bean bags can also be used as other flexible seating possibilities when students are working with groups or partners.
My goal for this project is to provide all of my students with options for other places to sit in the classroom.
Students tend to focus more when they are out of their desks and interacting with others around the room. My goal is to provide two bean bags for my calm corner to make it more inviting for my middle school students. I would like to use the other two bean bags to provide more flexible seating options during group work.
My students deserve so much because of their hard work. They have shown me that when you provide a safe and comfortable space for them to learn, they excel! My students are unique and one-of-a-kind individuals who love to learn in my classroom through different seating options. It allows them to have freedom within our classroom.
