This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Theater Teacher at a Title I (low income) school with the majority of our students considered "At-Risk". Our students may not have much money, but they are working hard to create a positive future for themselves.
My students have developed a desire to learn more about Theater Lighting and want to produce high quality theater. I want so very much to give them this.
With a "Follow Spot," my students will have the opportunity to hand manipulate light, color, and shape. They will also be able to master the art of follow spot and finding their light. They are so excited to increase their rigor in the classroom, to become competitive in the world of High School Theater.
With your help, my students will gain a unique opportunity to become better prepared for their academic future. A "Follow Spot" increases the student's creative minds. From Theater to Science to Math, this piece of equipment will enhance my students academic experience.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
