My Project
I want to engage students in the Lab to come up with their own ideas and test them! Dissolved oxygen is important in aquatic ecosystems. Using fishtanks, students will test how flow, water level, and organisms affect water quality. I teach AP Environmental Science and Research. I would like for students to use a 3 D printer and DO probes, to come up with designs on how water flow and fish affect decomposition in the lab. Students can test their designs, and compete in our local science fair. The goal is to teach relationships between dissolved oxygen and turbidity, flow and other parameters and get them excited about their own ideas and having the freedom to be creative through project based learning.
