This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our violin and viola players are in urgent need of new strings. These devoted players have been playing on their old, overused strings for about a year or two. In reality, they should be replacing their strings about twice a year. However, these students cannot afford these better quality strings.

These devoted violin and viola players spend about 15+ hours on their instruments during the regular school week.

This is not including the amount of hours they spend practicing and the numerous concerts that they perform in. Imagine how much wear and tear that their strings are facing. Although all of these students long for that professional tone, they are unable to do so with the horrible quality strings that they are playing on. In addition, these students are also unable to purchase such top-quality strings because of the economic struggle they face everyday within their community. Although this orchestra is ranked as one of the top in the country, these violin and viola players are unable to offer a professional tone.

My Project

With these new strings, our violin and viola players will be able to find that professional tone that they have been longing for since the beginning of the year. These strings will be put on as soon as they are received and will be put into action as soon as possible. I can only imagine how much better the sound will be once they put on these top-quality strings. These violin and viola players of the orchestra will be able to help support the orchestra greater with their newly improved tone. Also, many students in the violin and viola section will be able to perform more solos, duets, quartets, etc. within the program's concerts, making the concert filled with more beautiful violin and viola music. These strings are a necessity and we need your help as soon as possible.

Once these violin and viola players receive these new strings, they will learn that new strings really make a difference.

Although they are wonderful and devoted players, they have yet to learn how they could produce a more professional tone. With these strings, they will be able to expand their knowledge and get closer to the goal of being a professional violin or viola player.
