This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in a high poverty area and many times do not have access to important school supplies at home. Our school district is going through a series of budget cuts. It's very difficult for me to provide them with the supplies we need in the classroom to complete the day to day assignments.
Our school is a Title I school and the majority of students qualifies for a free lunch.
My students come from a high poverty neighborhood with a very diverse range of home structures such as nuclear, single parent, foster and migrant to name a few. However, my students are eager to learn.
My Project
We need your help to make our education experience the best it can be. By donating to our project you will be providing my students with paper to do their math and science assignments. They will also have access to three ring binders and seat sacks that will help them keep their work in a safe and organized place. The highlighters and pens will help them keep their math/science notes organized. The headphones will allow them to work at their computer stations without having to hear their neighbor's computer. The common core math activities will provide them with the reinforcement they need to master the math standards.
Having the basic supplies is crucial to learning.
Our project is very important because my students need these supplies to complete the day to day activities during science and math.
