This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English language learners in third grade. Most of my students are working below grade level and struggle with reading and writing.
Our school is a Title I school, and the majority of students qualify for free lunch.
My students come from a high poverty neighborhood with a very diverse range of home structures. My students are enthusiastic learners, eager to learn, but some of them do not have the necessary writing skills to create good writing pieces.
My Project
We need 2 seat sacks because most of the class has seat sacks except for 2 students. My students love their seat sacks because they have more space around their desks and it helps them keep their work organized. We also need ink cartridges for our classroom black/white printer and ink for our color printer. It is amazing to have the luxury of being able to print my students' work. My students love it when they can print their work. I can also print my students' homework, fluency charts and multiplication timed tests.
My project will make a difference because it will provide us with ink, which is a luxury to have.
We are lucky to have two printers in our classroom and my students love to type their writing pieces. We will appreciate all the help we can get for this project.
