Help me give my students the tools they need to build their basic math skills. The headphones allow students to listen to our supplementary online lessons and help them perform better in my Math 8 (Pre-Algebra) class.

My Project
Our school district has mandated a supplementary online program called "i-Ready." It is a program that diagnosis a students' current operational math level. Once diagnosed, students are put on a "MyPath" which takes the results from the diagnosis and provides lessons tailored to their needs. i-Ready has been a helpful tool in my classroom as I do not have the ability to reteach basic math skills that were taught in elementary school. My job as an 8th grade math teacher is to prepare students for high school Algebra. Currently, students on the MyPath must listen to the lessons and pass the quizzes associated with their particular lesson. If they don't hear the instructions, they often fail the lesson and have to repeat it multiple times until passed. Currently, our school only has 2 class sets of headphones that are shared between English and Math teachers. Often times we have to check them out but may not be available. Not all students have access to Bluetooth headphones (i.e. AirPods) which becomes an equity issue. Graciously funding my project would provide ALL my students access to their lessons therefore helping them become more successful in my math class and beyond. My 8th grade students are resilient and hard-workers. Even though they moan and groan when I say the words "i-Ready", they complete their lessons and as a result, I see a difference in their performance in Math 8. I am confident the headphones will be a tremendous help. The headphones will be treated with respect, remain in my classroom and properly stored in a storage container to prevent dust. Thank you for your time.
