Help me give my students a space in the classroom in which they can relax on the soft area rug and be able to access the many math games and supplies on the book shelves to enhance learning.

My Project
I am blessed to work with such wonderful 4th and 5th grade math students everyday. Many of the students come from a low socio-economic area and don't have the resources they always need to feel successful. I want them to walk into my room and feel at home, cared for, and not have to worry about anything other than learning. I would use the area rug to help buffer the noise and make the room feel more quiet which will help to not over stimulate some students. It will also provide a space for anyone who may need a spot to relax. The shelving units will be such a wonderful addition to my classroom to allow me to organize and store my math manipulatives, games and resources that the students may need to meet their needs in math. The cardstock, laminator, and paper cutter will be used to create differentiated learning centers to meet the various learning levels of my students. The students will be able to use the dry erase markers on their white boards as they are working with their peers to solve real world problems and practice basic math problems.
