In Living Color

My students need a reliable colored printer to help them make their writing come alive and motivate them to improve their finished product.

My Students

My class consists of 50% girls and 50% boys. They are mostly from Hispanic and Black ethnic groups and lower income communities. There is a zeal for learning despite the circumstances that they are faced with. Some have emotional, social and academic circumstances that are limiting. The ESL and students with special academic needs receive services in order to assist them in the learning process.

These students need to be prepared to compete in an ever changing world that is technology driven.

They want to be successful and are challenged to be successful.

My Project

It has been my experience that many students are not motivated to write. I believe that having a colored printer in the classroom with be a motivator for the students to write and print their created text. Being able to see their written work displayed in the classroom for their fellow students, staff and visitors to see will boost their confidence and interest in writing. Writing will develop their ability to express themselves clearly in any circumstance and will also improve their Language Arts skills. They will develop their writing in different genres and hence boost their confidence and their achievement improves.
