it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Have you ever made a scrapbook without pictures? Exactly. That's what will happen to my students without a photo printer.
My students are from a public elementary school in Southern California and they are awesome!
They are a bright, funny, and creative bunch. That is why they are eager to handle every aspect of their scrapbook project. However, they lack the resources to bring this project to fruition and the few pages they've developed are a little weak.
My Project
Our school does not produce a yearbook, therefore, creating a scrapbook gives my students the opportunity to document their final year in elementary school. Each page of the scrapbook features special events such the Halloween Parade, field trips, and special projects. Allowing my students the full experience of self-expression by having them take and print their photographs will also foster a sense of independence. Students will also add to their technological skills by learning how to handle a camera and a printer.
Completing the 5th grade scrapbook will be an accomplishment that will develop self-expression, independence, technical skills, but most of all self-confidence.
These are the skills my students need to carry on to meet the challenges of the future.
