I will be teaching a class of multicultural fourth graders who are a mixture of ELD, special needs, and gifted students. They are eager students who are ready to learn and try their best.
More than half of our students come from low-income families who cannot provide them with the resources they need to help give their children the best education possible.
These students are the ones on the free or reduced-price lunch list.
With the diverse students in my class, I always find myself modifying everything I teach.
My Project
About 4 years ago I was gifted a laptop through Donors Choose, it was the best thing ever! Three months ago, while one of my students was using the laptop to complete his work he accidentally dropped it and damaged the screen. I have no insurance on it and it costs too much to get it repaired. Not having the proper technology makes a big impact on my teaching, we cannot look up information that is needed, show them any educational clips that tie with our learning, do attendance and check my school emails, or simply function in an era full of technology. My laptop isn't only used by me but also used by the students for assignments when needed.
I ask you to help support my classroom by giving us the technology we need in my classroom.
With this laptop I can continue to expose my students to much much more and make the connection they are asking for and the children will explore the endless educational opportunities through the internet. Please help my amazing students and I with whatever you can. Your help is greatly appreciated.
