This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Did you ever come up with a brilliant idea for a project you want to create but need more information through the Internet but your idea needs to wait because your block of time for the computer lab isn't until Friday after lunch and it's only Monday? It would be helpful to have a classroom computer.
I have 26 students on my roster and one autistic student who mainstreams.
I have a great group of students who love to laugh, be creative, helpful, and encouraging to one another. I have students who struggle academically, students who are identified gifted, and everything else in between and it is a big challenge for me to differentiate their learning. But they are a very sweet bunch who try very hard everyday.
My Project
My students are very creative and artistic. I find it exciting to assign them projects in groups with limited directions to inspire creativity. If we had a computer in the classroom for their use, they can go directly to the source to find information that will enrich and enhance their completed products without having to wait for a specific time for our computer lab time or waste time in getting the whole class ready to go down to the computer every and each time.
We constantly speak of cutting edge education and yet my students sit with not one computer in the classroom.
For some students, school maybe the only place they can use a computer or even learn to use one. If we are funded with at least one computer, it would be a fantastic start. This would indeed make my student's lives easier.
