My students need this HP - OfficeJet Pro 8710 Wireless All-In-One Instant Ink Ready Printer to create classroom materials for Reading and Math workstations.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It's hard for me to say exactly what I love about my students without going into extreme detail. Each one of my "firsties" brings an uniqueness to the classroom. Each year I find myself loving my students for different reasons. This past year, I loved the kindness they held in their hearts for everyone they met. I loved the smiles on their faces when a favorite author was mentioned. I loved the joyous declaration for reading when a new "trick" was unveiled. I loved their sweet voices patiently helping a friend in need of assistance. I loved the strength they had dealing with situations beyond any one persons understanding. Every year my students bring me different reasons to love them.
At my school, many of my students come from low income families.
The difficulties some of my students experience on a daily basis can be heartbreaking. My classroom provides a safe space. They get to be 6-year-olds and, for 8 hours a day, their worries are pushed to the side. Despite their troubles they walk into the classroom eager and excited to learn. One of the things I love most about them.
My Project
It's no surprise that teachers create most of the materials used in the classroom. In my classroom, teacher made activities account for 98% of student used materials, in workstations for both Reading and Math. Due to budget cuts, my classroom is in need of a printer. The HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Wireless All-In-One Instant Ink Ready Printer will allow me to endlessly create classroom materials that meet the individual needs of my students.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Wireless All-In-One Instant Ink Ready Printer's scanning features will allow me the ability to scan my student's work and make it digital.
This feature will give me the opportunity to share my students work with parents via email, teacher blog, and/or school webpage.
Another perk of the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 Wireless All-In-One Instant Ink Ready Printer is that it prints in color! On my campus printing in color is not easily accessible. I would be able to print real life pictures for my students! The thought of teaching an unknown vocabulary word and actually being able to have a realistic picture in COLOR brings me so much excitement. We could digitally create charts together on the SMART Board and print them out (in COLOR), to post around the classroom!
