My Students

In our classroom we are continually striving to integrate technology meaningfully into the curriculum. The students are adept at using iPads, Chromebooks and an interactive white board to improve reading, math, science and social skills. The introduction of 3D pens will allow us to build upon this.

Our school is located on a tree lined street in the midst of a neighborhood.

Some students have parents that are highly educated and associated with our state university, while many others come from homes that are economically challenged. The school has a dual language program for both native Spanish and English speakers, as well as an English-only program

My Project

The students will use the 3D pens to physically create what they are mentally visualizing. This will improve reading comprehension and math concepts. In reading, the students will be able to make three-dimensional drawings of details and characters from books and use these as a starting point for a rich discussion. In addition, they will use the pens in geometry to make abstract concepts more concrete.

The funding of this project will help the students thrive in a 21st century world by increasing their engagement in reading and math activities.

In addition, they will be adding to their technological knowledge.
