Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The goal of this project is to allow students opportunities to engage with their peers through games that will allow them to learn communication and critical thinking while improving their mental health by building relationships with one another. Students come alive when they are given opportunities to play games with one another and often ask us whether we have games to play when they have classes like "Family" where they are meant to build community. While I have bought many games and activities for students with my own money, this project would be incredibly beneficial to student mental health.
Students also consistently express that they are hungry and I have often used my own money to buy healthy snacks for students so that they are fueled to succeed in their education.
The snack element of this project would be beneficial to increased student engagement with their education and better physical health.
