My Project

Goals and Justification:

This proposal requests funding to acquire essential resources that will enhance the mathematics curriculum for 6th, 7th and 8th-grade students at Coral Way K-8 Center.

Currently, our math classes lack engaging materials that cater to different learning styles. Teachers often find themselves lacking resources to improve students’ learning.

The objective of this grant is to purchase materials, to facilitate hands-on learning and improve student understanding of mathematical concepts. For example, the grid paper will be used to plot linear, exponential and quadratic functions.

Using grid paper for plotting of functions improve the quality of the work because the students excessive neatness.

I have noted that the students engage better when they go to the whiteboard to do the work, the reason for which I am requesting the dry erase markers and whiteboard erasers.

The WACOM will be used to facilitate explaining step by step exercises from the computer to the classroom smart board.

We will assess the effectiveness of the new materials through student performance on assessments, surveys about their engagement with math, and feedback from teachers on the materials' impact on instruction.

Funding this project will empower our middle school students to engage more deeply with math, ultimately leading to improved academic performance and a greater appreciation for the subject.
