Improving Learning with Hands on Games

My students need additional materials to practice comprehension skills for reading, as well as additional practice with math concepts that are fun, and keep students engaged in the learning process.

My Students

I am beyond thrilled to have a very inquisitive, energetic group of learners this year! They love hands on activities, games, and the use of technology in the classroom.

Despite living in a low income area, my students show up each day with such drive and determination.

My students deserve to have the best opportunities for success available to them. I believe that with your help, we can continue to foster their love of learning, feed their ambition, and help them to grow academically.

My Project

The reading comprehension games, math folders games, and reading and writing folder games we are asking for will help to keeps students engaged in the learning process. Third grade is a difficult year, especially with state testing requirements. To help students remain focused on the skills being taught, these games will help "lighten" the material, and make it more enjoyable for students. Many of my students come from homes in which English is not the primary language spoken, therefore they struggle with reading and language usage. I am planning to use these materials to give students additional practice with comprehension skills to help improve their reading levels, as well as practice with math topics that extend from previous school years.

Each of the items requested contains many skills that can be utilized as centers in our classroom.

I group students into centers based off of classroom data, so that each group is working on a skill set that they have either struggled with or need additional practice in mastering them. With these resources students will have help geared to their individual needs.
