Improving Fine Motor Skills With Writing Tools

Help me give my students wet erase markers to use with sheet protected graphic organizers, graph paper, pencil grips and grip pencils. These items will help my students that have difficulties with their fine motor skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a very low-income community in South Central LA. Every day, these students remind me of why I have chosen this career. My students' eagerness to explore inspires me to push them even further. I make sure to celebrate their big and small successes.

I teach in a Special Day Class with English Language learners.

My students have varied disabilities to include autism, learning disabilities and other health impairments . I would like to provide them with varied modalities to learning due to their varied learning deficiencies. When they learn something new, they beam with pride and demonstrate it through their reading, writing, and speaking. Some of my students receive occupational therapy services to improve their fine and gross motor skills to include penmanship. We would greatly appreciate wet erase markers to use with the class sheet protected graphic organizers, graph paper to assist them in organizing their math and pencil grips. Through funding from DonorsChoose.org, I am able to provide the needed experiences and activities that will open up their education

My Project

This variety of writing tools will help my students stay organized and neat while helping them fine tune their fine motor skills. I have a vast amount of diverse students in my classroom and I want them to all feel confident with their abilities to stay organized and neat in all subjects. Not only will these items help the students feel confident, but this will also help increase their awareness and understanding of the importance of nice penmanship.

It is important for students to fine tune their fine motor skills at a young age.

These items will especially help my special needs students that struggle with penmanship and staying organized.
