Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a third grade teacher at a supportive high-need school in the state of Illinois. My students are enthusiastic low-income English language learners.
My kiddos are eager learners, but they lack the modeling of the English language at home to properly improve. We are hoping for read along books and CD's to help them on their way.
We would love several sets of books on CD, as well as a listening table, and a headphone connector. My students will greatly benefit by having read alongs to aid them in their language acquisition. They will also enjoy having a private table to go to in the classroom that will be our listening center. Eight students will be able to listen at one time, which will be a high success engaging place for them to do their learning.
Your help will ensure that my students see reading as an adventure that they can be a part of by utilizing the read along books and slowly building up their own English skills to independently attack more challenging books from our classroom library.
