Improving Engagement and Mental Health for My 8th Graders

Help me give my students some of the basic materials that they deserve! I want to build a joy of learning, reading, community, and safety; all of these materials will help our space tremendously.

My Project

My students deserve access to the latest educational resources to spark their interest in reading and to keep pace with the ever-evolving world of education. As my students' interests grow and change, and I am seeing a lot of young people who don't identify as "readers," so I aim to provide books in my classroom that will capture their attention and inspire a love for reading.

The visuals make these books more approachable, helping struggling readers feel less intimidated and more engaged.

When students find reading enjoyable, they naturally read more, developing stronger skills and a lasting appreciation for books. These resources would also help me create a calm, inviting classroom culture where every student can enjoy reading in a comfortable and supportive space. My goal is to foster an environment where students feel excited to pick up a book and explore new stories.

By providing the essential resources my students deserve, I can build a positive space where reading is seen as fun and rewarding for everyone.
