This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever experienced your printer eating up all your papers? My students are in desperate need of a new color printer that would slide out their artworks.

I teach at a wonderful, multi-cultural, public school located in the San Fernando Valley.

We are a Title One school, and many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes. My class includes students that are both English and non-English speakers, as well as students with disabilities. All of my students enjoy working on the computer love to create self-portraits on the computer, but the printer is outdated and chews up the papers.

My Project

Every year, we study two famous impressionists, Monet and Van Gogh. To paint using their techniques, my kindergarten students learn to manipulate the mouse by using a wonderful art program called Kid Pix. The program allows the students to select from an array of art mediums (paint, watercolor, airbrush, pencil, crayon, marker, chalk, etc.) to using various finishing techniques (stickers, stamps, typeface, etc.). We love to paint our picture and print out our creation to display in the class. However, it has not been possible this year and we are very disappointed. Please help our students get excited about creating art on the computer by funding our project. We would love to show you our kindergarten portraits.

By funding this proposal, you will be giving my students a chance to see their creative work on a piece of paper just like the real famous artists do.
