Help me give my students a Handycam so I can video their game practices to enhance students' motivation, confidence, understanding, and performance in athletic activities
My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and 35% of the school population are economically disadvantaged. With the current situation our country is facing with the pandemic, many of my students have been affected in some way. Many of my students' parents have been laid off from work and are now facing serious issues in the home.
As wonderful as it is to be with my students face to face during the school day and having them engage in physical activity during PE, this is a completely different situation, trying to find creative ways to have my students continue to be active physically from a distance is extremely frustrating.
I am looking for ways to continue to be the inspiration in their lives to have them continue with good health and fitness.
My Project
Each time my students have game practices, we always need to find cameras to borrow. It has been really hard to capture and video their practices due to our low budget in class. I am hoping that this project will get funded, so my students will be able to video their games to improve their skills in any sports.
Videoing students' games would help in acquiring the language of sports and other physical activities.
It is an important aspect of developing proficiency in a sport or other physical activity in order to attain optimum level of skills and fitness.
Viewing every teams' games can enhance perception, attention, and cognition. It will allow them to see their game performance, and be able to improve techniques in order to win every game. In addition, I am going to interact with my students by using the camera to film myself, showing the proper movements in certain physical exercises.
