My Project
By having virtual reality goggles in the classroom, my architecture students have a much more authentic experience with their building designs. This is the next best thing to doing actual site visits. This would also give my students a way to experience great architectural masterpieces through augmented reality.
My main goal has always been to find ways to help students from different backgrounds and cultures discover architecture as a career possibility and to cultivate appreciation for great architecture.
As it becomes more difficult for students to go on field trips, this would be an alternative way to for them to make site visits without actually leaving campus.
My students are 11th graders who are taking the specialization course in our engineering pathway. They are a mixture of English language learners, gifted students, students with disabilities, and potentially first generation college students. A picture is worth a thousand words when it comes to architecture and design.
