My students need quality, engaging nonfiction and social stories to keep them reading books that are just right for them. Time for Kids meets this need in one collection!
Readers, writers, thinkers, talkers, creators., learners... My students are learning what it takes to be leaders in our community. They may face poverty or challenges as military children. They are all unique and full of potential.
Every child at our school receives free breakfast and lunch and attend a Leader in Me Lighthouse school!
They are learning that knowledge is power, and that knowledge comes from a variety of experiences. My students are working to read, talk about books in a community of learners, seek information from many sources, and write to change the world around them. They have asked me for more books to help them learn!
My Project
These informational and social story books are specifically selected to enable my students to choose books that teach them that reading nonfiction is fun! By having a wide variety of these books in my classroom library, students can check them out, enjoy them at school, and take them home to read to and with their families. The students also gain access to more information about topics they learn about in social studies and science. Students will have the opportunity to learn how to react when they disagree with another person as well as about rocks and other earth materials.
This project will benefit my students by putting more quality informational books in their hands so they can enjoy reading at school and at home.
They will learn about topics we study as well as how to deal with social situations and feelings they experience. My students will benefit immensely both socially and academically from the experiences that this project will provide.
