it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Imagine sitting in a classroom ready and eager to learn and you can't see the lesson. Imagine having to sit on the floor just to see the lesson. That's what my students have to do everyday.
My students live and learn in the heart of Hollywood.
We are a medium-sized, urban, public school. My students are all English language learners. All of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. They are first and second generation Americans, the children of hard-working parents. My students come to school every day ready to learn.
My Project
Living and working in the 21st century is based on using technology. Teaching has become more and more technology based. Many of my lessons are presented in PowerPoint form. I have a projector to share my lesson with my students but nowhere to put the projector. I have had to put the projector on the desk which makes the image low and hard for all my students to see. If I raised it up by stacking dictionaries under the projector, it wasn't very secure and would often make the image shaky and hard to see. I am asking for a technology cart where I can properly store by projector and Elmo. This will enable all my students to be able to see the lessons as they are being presented.
A technology cart will improve my classroom in many ways.
Besides from allowing all my students to see the lessons, it will provide a secure location to put an Elmo where my students will be able to present their work to their classmates. It will allow me to be able to connect the projector to my laptop allowing the learning possibilities to be endless.
