My Students

My students are very creative and excited to learn! They come to class each day ready to try new things and create something special. They love connecting the art they make with their personal interest. They are insightful and passionate kids. I love introducing them to new mediums and materials. I want them to think more creatively in all aspects of their education. Problem solving is so important.

My favorite part of the day is when a student gets excited about something they made and proudly show me what they have accomplished.

Our students come from a newly emerging community and include a diverse set of children. They love art class and I want to give them the opportunity to explore their creativity. My students have great ideas on what they want to make, but my resources are limited. My wish is to provide whatever materials they need to create something important. I love seeing how each student creates something unique and special with the same project parameters.

My Project

My students LOVE PAINT DAYS. I teach many classes of varying grades per day. On days that several classes paint projects I need a place to put their work to dry! This year we set them on windowsills, tables, the floor, or anywhere we could. This year I would love a drying rack that could fit the work of several classes, bigger projects, and create more space for the room. This would mean more painting days for the students - their favorite.

My students eyes light up when they realize they get to paint that day.

I want to be able to paint with them as much as possible. A drying rack would be incredible for our classroom. Currently we have a borrowed small drying rack that only fits small projects and only twenty papers at a time. I have over 500 students who love making big art projects. This project being funded would facilitate a lot more opportunities for me and my students.
