My Students

As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. The resources will be unlimited and accessible to my students to be a successful scholar. I have a high number of English language learners in my classroom as well. Also, this is my 1st year as a teacher and I want to be able to provide my students with all the support they need to be an effective student.

My Project

These materials will make a huge difference because as a teacher, I will have the opportunity to use the pop and match phonics game or the teaching cart with my small groups to reinforce the standards until the students have mastered the standards. The students will have an opportunity to use the early math learning centers independently while, I am able to work with a small group. The calendar activity center is interactive and in-depth, which allows the students to participate, be engaged and learn during circle time. The students can use the CVC word banks to assist them with blending whole words and segmenting the sounds. As a teacher, I can use the teaching phonic skills as a based need activity to assist the students with reaching their goals on their reading data. The students will be reading fluently and accurately by the end of the school year. As a teacher, I am getting them prepared to be a second grader and reading at their level.
