This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are an exceptional group of young people that work hard to accomplish what is asked of them. They are learning problem solving skills and improving their scope of creativity. The students are enthusiastic to research, learn new things, and increase their knowledge and skills.
My Project
The supplies I have selected will give my students what they need to be successful in the visual fine arts. Often times supplies have to be rationed and equipment is old and worn. Students will be able to work faster and with less frustration in class. The projects will be able to be taken home for distance learning since there will be enough for everyone.
Many of my students come from families in a low socio economic background and limited English therefore, they cannot afford supplies in their home and I wish to provide them with what they need to know for success in their art classes.
The students will create paintings and drawings that address various causes such as the annual National Conservation Poster Competition. They will learn all the art basics listed in our Oklahoma Art Standards. Pencils will help with drawing skills and cartooning ideas. The glues are needed to create 2 of the recycling projects one of which is a collage and two others that are assemblage sculptures. The papers are for posters, water colors, printmaking, acrylic paintings and various drawings.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
