Imagine It, Create It: 3D Printing

Help me give my students a 3D printer and filament to foster their design thinking and engineering minds by creating a variety of prototypes and products to solve everyday problems.

My Project

Just as the Covid pandemic hit the world, our school was lucky enough to get a new principal. In the last two and a half years he has brought our school into the 21st century. Our students are beginning to take computer science classes, create simple block code, and have begun to pull away from boxed curriculums in exchange of thematic units and project based learning (PBL) units.

When students see their ideas come to life through 3D printing, they realize there's a world of possibilities out there for them.

After connecting with a few professionals, we found this Ender 3 S1 will be easier for our younger or less experienced students to use than our current base model Ender 3s. We'd love to have continue to foster an environment of collaboration where our 3D printers will continue to be used for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to PBLs, digital art, and a makerspace. 3D printers will help students stretch their imaginations and think creatively to solve problems in ways others may not have thought of.
