I am a Kindergarten teacher and I am writing this proposal for a creative play and block set. The classroom I am currently in does not have a block or creative play area for students to go to. I work in an area where the students may not have the opportunity to enhance their motor skills. Video games may be fine as eye-hand coordination, but when will the child use his/her hands to create and use their imagination?
There is no funding to purchase the items I am asking for. I am asking for a Lego table set, Legos, building blocks and modeling clay. This area would be used as a center which would help with eye-hand coordination, color recognition and creative play. The students would be able to use their imagination to create "masterpieces". It would also give the students the opportunity to work on their interpersonal skills, which will help them throughout life.
My class and I would greatly appreciate a donation toward these items. Thank you for your consideration.
