Imagination With Legos

My Students

The students of my school are eager to learn new concepts and technologies. They are not used to having a lot and treat all new experiences with enthusiasm and respect. We have multiple classrooms that serve as regional class rooms for students with autism, emotional issues, and others. We also serve grades PreK-8.

We are a small community school which needs to update our views on how to use technology in education.

I am the librarian tasked with showing these students who live in low income areas to reach beyond their expectations to grab their dreams and realities. Our school has little to nothing in the STEAM world and we would like to change that.

My Project

Everyone loves Legos. For some it is the joy of creating something new and exciting using just their imagination. For others it is the satisfaction of following the directions given to finish a replica or set.

These sets will be used during recess for students to learn and relax while learning to follow directions.

Fine motor skills will also be used as students put the bricks together and take them apart to make the images they have in their minds come to life. These sets will help my students in so many ways all while they are having fun.
