My students are in kindergarten and are vibrant and full of life!
They come from a low-economic area in Ohio. With that being said they love to come to school and learn! My students are always excited about learning something new. They even like it when they have homework or projects! I try to have many different centers and workshops for learning.
My Project
My dramatic play center right now, just has a table and a plastic kitchen from garage sales. They deserve so much more than that. Many of my students do not have toys or things to play with at home. They have such a huge imagination and love going to this center. These materials, such as furniture and costumes, will be great for social and life skills. I think "play" in schools is becoming lost, when it should be one of the most important.
The dramatic play center is something I have been envisioning for years!
I am a first year teacher and I would do anything for my students. They deserve the world and I want them to have the experiences I had when I was growing up. My students crave to use their imagination and this would be a great start.
