My Students

I work in an urban school where the students are coming from low income households and over half of the students are coming from some sort of trauma or neglect at home. I want to make sure when they come into my classroom that they feel safe, nurtured, and excited about being there. Kindergarten is their first experience in a school setting and will set the stage for their future at our school. We are lacking supplies in my classroom which we need so that my students can get their imaginations and creativity flowing.

My Project

My students are yearning to do more art projects in our classroom as we learn about different animals in science, cultures in global studies, and characters in all of the wonderful stories we read. We need simple art supplies such as construction paper, sturdy crayons, and markers. Once we have these necessities I can't wait to see what kinds of things my students create.

The students deserve a classroom that is filled with materials that will get their imagination and creativity flowing.

I will use the laminator to preserve the reading and math centers that I create. It will be great to use for the manipulative's that we use on a daily basis because it helps keep them in good condition.
