My Students

I've had the amazing opportunity to welcome a kind, diverse group of scholars to my classroom - and for many of them, this is their first experience with the school environment at all.

My school serves some of the highest need students in the our area, and I want to set a foundation for academic success.

My students bring a variety of languages, cultures, and backgrounds to our classroom, and many of them are still learning how to be ready to learn at school. However, each and every child has such a great potential to learn, and we have high academic expectations for our kindergarten scholars!

My Project

School lately has become such a rigid idea in a kindergarten classroom. Schools have lost touch with the fact that our students are so young and they still need a lot of hands on activities. I'd like to really dig deep into the exploration parts of our day and give our little ones the opportunities to learn from each other.

Our students need the time to be creative, practice their fine motor skills, and ultimately BE A KID.

There are so many educational activities that we can incorporate fine motor skills and creative play into, and this is exactly what my students need this year. We are requesting materials such as Play-Doh, Creative Sand for letter and number writing, and ring toss for exploration time to practice our hand/eye coordination!
