Help me give my students sensory items and art supplies to help increase engagement and assist students with sensory processing disorders. The art supplies will help students express uncomfortable emotions using drawing and coloring.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are bright and full of potential. The art supplies and sensory items will help meet the student's unique needs. Students often use art to help them process their experiences and deal with overwhelming emotions.
Art provides kids with critical sensory input and can help children express their feelings in a multidimensional way even if they lack the vocabulary to describe their feelings with words.
The sensory items will be used to create bulletin boards for our students that have sensory issues to help them become more comfortable with different textures and as part of a calming technique to help students when they are experiencing difficult emotions.
