This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

With this project I would like to get my students 3 3-D printers for our classroom. My plan would be to teach students some coding techniques using the software from code.org. Then, once they have successfully coded a project, we can print their designs.

My students are extremely interested in Science, but have very little real-life experiences to draw knowledge from, this project would help spark interest and give actual hands-on experience.

I have had a 3-D printer in the past and the students thoroughly enjoyed it. The only issue was that I could not print their projects fast enough. Due to having to wait so long between their prints, we were not able to keep up our production. Our old 3-D printer is no longer compatible with many of the codes making it very difficult to use.

I would also like to request a classroom set of headphones with microphones for my students. This is to help students be able to voice type and record videos. I currently have a few for my classroom, but it is difficult for a classroom of 25 to share them.

I know that these materials will keep building interest in the Sciences for my students and expose them to learning that would otherwise be impossible for them. Thank you so much for considering my classroom project!
