Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There are many reasons why my students are special, but the most important reason is that they are eager to beat the odds of their communities.

A vast majority of my students come from homes below the poverty line, and I want them to have the chance to experience different opportunities otherwise not afforded to them.

My Project

The iMac would make a difference during Remote Learning by allowing me access to up to date technology that will allow me to take my lessons to the next level.

Students require digital animation, vibrant colors, pre-recordings, stop and pause time, and frequent check-ins and opportunities to bring incorporate different applications to enhance student engagement.

My biggest challenge is not having the appropriate technology that allows me to bring the lessons to life for my students. My current technology is constantly lagging/loading delaying the effects and intentions of the lessons. I am currently working on a 13-inch laptop that is not compatible with some of the applications I want to use. I have so many tabs open throughout the day it slows the laptop down. I sit at the desk for 6-9 hours everyday squinting at the screen that is for the most part split to display 2 screens at a time.

When we return to in-person learning I will create a technology station where students can use the technology themselves to enhance the quality of their assignments.
